PC gamers who decided to take the gamble and purchase Assassin’s Creed 2 on PC, despite the always connected requirement, have been left with an unplayable game. Earlier today a thread appeared on the Ubisoft technical help and advice forum with players stating they were unable to access the game. It turns out the servers handling the game had gone down, and as they are required to play the game, no one’s game worked. That obviously led to lots of very angry and frustrated gamers posting on the thread. One poster going by the name of The Black Zodiac wrote: This is so frustrating! I want to play a game when I want, not when the game company feels like allowing me. I bought this game, heck I didn’t even noticed[sic] the price tag, because I knew this game would be epic (in my taste at least then I play it all night and was utterly impressed. But at this moment I’m stuck at some stupid Ubisoft Game Launcher, that is trying to log me into A SINGLE PLAYER GAME WITHOUT ONLINE PLAY, but it can’t connect to the servers! WTF?!?!?! No official response has come from Ubisoft’s management regarding what has happened, but the forum community managers are doing their best to manage the flack coming from this.
